This painting depicts the Victorian beauty of a simple railway depot found
here in my own town of Saint James, Long Island. The extreme early morning
sunlight plays an intricate dance on the details of this beautifully restored structure
as well as bathing the lovers on the distant landing in spring warmth. The locomotive
far distant allows the viewer to ponder the question......is this a greeting or a farewell?
Key elements in this painting were modeled nearly .5mm from the surface of the canvas
prior to painting.
To the hundreds of people who see this station at this time of day, each and every day,
I ask you to stop, take a breath and look around you.
